Hallo, you lovely judges, you! For our theme, Troian and I picked reflection. I decided to go a bit deeper with the theme than simply "me in front of a mirror", because I really wanted my picture to tell a story of inner reflection. Here, I'm thinking about myself, and my reflection is darkened a bit, both to keep it from upstaging my true self, but also to show the inner turmoil I'm experiencing. The other girls are coming after me and wanting me gone, and I can either take the dark path and lash out at them, or I can keep my head held high and behave with dignity and decorum. Between my photo and Troian's, this is legitimately the longest photo editing session I have done in my life, so I very much hope you guys are pleased with the results. *muah* ~ Emmy

Amanda: This is a very strong photo here. Although your connection with Troian isn't as strong as it possibly could be, what you've done is enough - your eyes seem connected, that's for sure, and you've definitely worked hard at perfecting this stuff. You look really pretty here (and still somewhat remind me of me!) and there's nothing really bad about it. I like your hair, I like the pose, I like the innocence, I like the idea. I don't absolutely adore this photo given the way your reflection looks. It's sort of off-putting given the angle. That's just a minor quibble, so good job!

Beth: I love the whole idea. Reflection!!! Hmmm!! Future photoshoot maybe? Back to your photo, I think you look gorgeous and elegant this week. The setting is beautiful and I think your face expression improve a little bit. Like Amanda said the connection wasn't strong but this is a tough week and you did good overall.

Thank you, ladies! One thing I'd like to say, since it's been said by both of you that the connection between our pictures isn't terribly strong, is that there's actually one pretty significant thing about the two of the them I didn't mention. It's hard to spot unless you look at the images side by side, like this: img220.imageshack.us/img220/5990/ref2y.pngIf you look at them that way, the hair style and makeup actually look pretty similar, but what's more important is this: I very purposely made sure that my reflection was on the left, and Troian's was on the right, so that if you put them together our photos look like reflections of each other. So the connection is that the theme isn't just in the pictures, it is the pictures. ...If that makes any sense.

Anna: You look so fragile here, yet I also see a subtle strength which is intriguing. Your pose is pitch perfect, and the simple styling keeps the focus on you which is wonderful. There is so much going on in your expression, and the best part is we have two different angles to look at.
As far as the Sisters Theme goes, I think you've come up with a very creative idea, but I'm torn about how you've "manufactured" it. The concept of reflections is genius, but when one is fake, I think it loses something (it would be like having "green" as your connection, but then completely photoshopping one photo to be the right color to make it work). I love that you two have bent over backward to make this work, but it would have been nice to see you find something that legitimately connects you two without having to use smoke and mirrors (pun intended).

I love that you two have bent over backward to make this work, but it would have been nice to see you find something that legitimately connects you two without having to use smoke and mirrors (pun intended). Believe you me, I'd have liked to find something that worked for the two of us, and I spent hours poring over Troian's portfolio to find anything that would work. There was only one photo I found that would have fit one of mine in any meaningful way, and both of those photos were pretty poor quality. In my completely biased opinion, I'd say the fact that we were able to manufacture something and do it well is a good thing. After all, in the last photoshoot one of the high fashion examples that Bethany touted as the best that the series has ever seen was Taylor's V cover from last season, which she made from scratch. It might have been 'manufatured', but it certainly looked better than the other photos out there, and that's what got her first callout. EDIT: Also, I'd just like to say that I'm sorry if I'm coming across as overly defensive or argumentative. That's definitely not my intent. The switch was very definitely designed to get rid of me, and I know that I'm up against some pretty serious competition, so I'm definitely feeling the heat on this one, and I don't want to get eliminated because I didn't explain things correctly, if that makes any sense...

Joan: I like this a lot. The setting is wonderful. The dress, pose and your facial expression all fits together. As for sister theme, I like seeing different and new themes rather than the old same old same old so good job!
