Hello Girls
Welcome to your Final Duo week. After this week, you're going to be on yourself. You only have yourself to blame after this.
Let's start our judging session now
Team Grey: Anne (November) & Charlize (April)
Beth: I think the styling looks great on November, but it's too safe for me. I believe there's a story behind this photo but I'm not sure. There's something off from this photo. I don't feel any energy from you in this photo.
Amanda: I've been wondering if you were going to use something from this shoot since you shared it with me! Considering you look like me, that makes it all the more awesome
I am feeling the sexy and I am feeling the styling here. There IS a story here, and it's something I would have an entire month to ponder. The black and white adds a lot of sentimental value, and it actually makes the photo warm. I really can't find any flaws about this, but at the same time, aside from you looking like me and taking my example (), I can't find anything outstanding. I really could see this on a calendar, though, and... it works. But that's just it. The only thing I'm going to remember is helping you with this xD
Anna: This is a great photo for November, but unfortunately I'm not a big fan of black and white for a calendar. I definitely see a story here, not only from your sad expression, but also the fact that you're sitting outside on the front step, as if you're either waiting for or missing someone. All that aside, I think this is a lovely shot, but like Beth said, this does seem rather safe. There's not a whole lot of mod
Joan: This can pass for November, but I agree very safe. Your eyes look very tired here. It looks like you have a lazy eye which ruins your beauty. Overall this picture is just safe and boring compared to the other girls.
Amanda: Charlize... this is a major step back for you. You've been unstoppable in recent weeks, and this isn't going to continue the trend. There's nothing unique about this. When I turn the calendar to May, I'm going to forget who Miss April was. Your eyes here are really weak, too - you're not sucking me in. You're not piquing my curiosity. This is just an image to go with my schedule, not one I'm going to constantly look at and remember in June. Of course, at the same time, there's nothing horribly wrong about this either, and based on your mad tear lately, you'll definitely be safe. I just want you to get back on your A-game next week, since this does absolutely nothing for me. It's pretty, but just plain.
Joan: I knew you would take a tumble after you were doing amazing the last rounds. I am not even sure this picture would fit another month really. I do not see April here at all. As the picture itself, it is alright. I have already complemented you on your eyes dozens of time, so by now it gets boring. I really like your dress here and the wind. But it is just boring and the fact I don’t see April here makes it even worse for you.
Beth: Yup Charlize, I'm going to side with the girls. I still can see the Spring/Summer vibe in this photo from your styling and setting but the photo itself just very boring. There's nothing spectacular about it. I know you can do better than this girl...
Anna: My goodness, you certainly look divine sitting on that plush chair...at the beach? Your face is absolute perfection as always, and I really love the way your hair is blowing in the breeze. Your outfit is gorgeous (and a great color for you), and even your pose is lovely. Having said all that, I am not seeing April here whatsoever I'm afraid. In fact, this is one of those shots that doesn't suggest any particular season or month, it's just a generically beautiful photo (not a good sign since this needs to fit in a calendar). You have been a force to be reckoned with in this competition, but you must remember the theme is just as important as looking fabulous.
Team Purple: Emmy (August) & Troian (October)
Amanda: These flowers do feel more summery to me than springlike. These seem like the late bloomers, so that's fine. What isn't fine is your expression. I'm not sure why, but I don't really like it. I love the concept, I love the idea, I love your hair, and you really do look like a princess here. But the way the light is hitting you, although effective, brings out some flaws in the way you're squinting. I just don't feel a connection to you. That's really the only thing that's irking me here, so it's otherwise wonderful. Good work
Joan: This photo is breathtaking! I love the concept so much. My problem with the photo is you look hunchbacked. As for this passing as an August month, I don’t see. It could be March, April, May or even June in my eyes. But I absolutely love this photo just wish you didn’t pick August.
Beth: I don't know much about Geography but I just love this photo so much. I love your 'interaction' with the nature here. If this is what Canada supposed to look like on August, than I think you did a fantastic job, Emmy. But what's gonna happen to the flowers in September. Are they going to die?
Anna: I think August is fine for this, though this doesn't necessarily scream any particular month in my opinion. My main problem with this is definitely your expression; I must agree with Amanda, the squinting thing is not working. Your pose is okay, and I like the setting, but the light is bringing all of the emphasis to your face, so you want to make sure that is pitch perfect. Overall, I think this shot works for a calendar, but it's certainly got its shortcomings.
Amanda: You really need to thank Emmy. Again. Because this is one of your best photos to date. The styling is wonderful, yet isn't over-the-top - it's fashion perfect for a calendar. This DEFINITELY gives a Halloween-y vibe with all the leaves scattered and the creepy trees in the back. You almost look glad to be there, but your mood fits with the setting. Your legs are gorgeous and I love the pose. I really don't see much wrong with this one! Great job on the rebound, Troi!
Joan: Wonderful job Troian! The dead tree behind you and the leaves moving with the wind makes this photo so haunting and brings out the October vibe. I agree with Amanda this is your best photo in the whole game. Honestly I didn’t think you had it in you to produce a better photo than week 1. I absolutely have no complaints for this photo. You got October and the picture itself looks amazing.
Beth: The styling is great, And I think the theme was perfectly executed. The concept here is very dark and gloomy so I think it might be a little bit haunting, if you turn this to Black & White. Just a suggestion but no matter this is very amazing girl!!! The angle, posture and setting are working well together.
Anna: Finally, the Troian from week one is back. This photo is perfect for October, and every single element is working in your favor here. The setting is exquisite, the styling is simple yet elegant, your expression and pose are flawless, and the lighting is gorgeous. If you were one of the other girls, I might even say this is almost too safe (you are after all just sitting on a chaise lounge); but when compared to what you've been giving us lately, this really is a home run.
Team Blue: Ayumi (March) & Gwen (May)
Amanda: This is almost too much for me, but after looking at it a while... I really like it. I can totally see this on a calendar. It fits well for March and the coming of spring, and it's high-fashion but not to the point that it doesn't fit. It's a VERY gorgeous shot, and DEFINITELY the kind of thing that you'd find on a fashion calendar. The effects do almost consume you, but honestly, that's not a major deal. You look good. You're breathing life from the dead of winter as the year comes to a turning point. I really, really enjoy this even if it was at first almost too much. Great work
Joan: Wow! Usually when I think of March, it is of course St. Patrick’s Day. I like how you didn’t go for that at all. Like Amanda said March is the start of spring which brings out the flowers. I think the picture itself it stunning. You look glamorous and gorgeous, I love this photo. Great work this week!
Beth: Yup, I can see this photo ended up on calendar. You look very beautiful, commercial and stunning here. You look very natural and fresh. But I do agree with Amanda. The flowers were too much. Its kinda try to overshadow you here. This photo reminds me of a horror movie when a flower monster try to eat people. I think the movie was from Japan. Ultraman something.
Anna: I adore this photo, and it's absolutely perfect for a calendar. Your expression is simple yet powerful, and I love how your arm stretches across the frame, caressing the flowers with your fingertips. Your hair is gorgeous, and the earrings are also a nice touch. However, as with your last photo, I think the lighting in this is rather harsh, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall, I think you've done a fantastic job this week, Ayumi.
Beth: Nice!!! May is definitely my favorite month. I like the setting. I think the styling is very unique and memorable. It's a little bit messy but didn't really affect the photo too much. Overall, I like this since I think you gave us variety in this photo.
Amanda: This is okay for me. There's nothing that makes you pop out in your surroundings - there's a lot going on, and my eyes aren't drawn anywhere in particular. I like the throwback, but I don't know if you do - you seem to look really bored here. That's probably the biggest problem. You look bored, so you're boring. I really do like the idea, and it definitely works for a May picnic, but I'm really only going to remember the concept - I'm not going to remember why you made it something else. It's good, but not great.
Anna: A punk rock tea party, now THAT'S intriguing. I am actually a huge fan of this, not only because you look flawless, but it's just incredibly interesting to look at. In my opinion, your pose works wonderfully here, because it tells such a great story. Here you are, having a gorgeous tea party outside, holding a wand, wearing a cape, and yet you are NOT impressed. I do see where the other judges are coming from as far as there being a lot going on in this shot, but some simple cropping would help to fix that:
Joan: I like this photo. I like the setting and concept very much. I like the rock in roll style this picnic has. My only problem is it looks like you have no eyebrows here so it makes you look so weird but overall I think this photo is great.
Team Pink: Miley (June) & Sienna (February)
Amanda: Good. You burned that wig. About damn time.
I happen to disagree with you about that headband - it doesn't really add anything to the photo here (a hat like mine would have probably been better ), and whatever that thing is dangling from it sort of takes away from your smile. Now, you have a hell of a smile, and that helps take the focus of the horse staring at the camera. I like your dress from what we see, but that's the thing - we don't see much of it. This photo could be so much more than it is. it delivers, but it doesn't go beyond it - if we could see more of the mountains in the background, it'd be even more appropriate for a calendar. This isn't bad or anything. It just isn't anything spectacular, either.
Joan: Is this Blue Jeans? I think this photo is good; I like how natural this photo looks. (Katy take note) I think this also does pass for June in the south, since you’re from Tennessee. I personally like headbands, and I love the hippie flower headband you have on. I think you did good here and much better than last round. Also you look much more comfortable than last round so good job on working on fixing that.
Beth: Why you always hate the headband, Amanda? Poor little and harmless headband. I like the styling here. Very June-ish for me. I like the setting, props and everything except your posture. I don't it's a great posture. Little bit awkward. Other than that, I like it!!!
Anna: I'm so happy to see a genuine expression from you again, Miley. I think this is a wonderful June photo, and it would really look great in a calendar. I love all of the white here, from the horse and dress to the flower garland headband. Your pose is quirky and fun, much like your first photo back in week one, and I think it suits you nicely. However, I do wish we could see a bit more of you; I think the angle is more flattering for the horse than it is for you.
Amanda: This is, uhh... I really have no idea how to put it. I'm not feeling February at all, since Valentine's Day is a holiday about intimate love. I don't completely see your explanation - you and your sister have a chemistry, but that's it. The flower is more suggestive of "April showers bring May flowers" and I really, really HATE the angle here. This looks like a candid shot. It's weird in all the wrong ways, and very memorable for that. That is, unfortunately, not good news for you. I'm really not feeling this. I want to, but I just can't. Sorry :/
Joan: Really Sienna? This comes off as a Facebook picture to me. I am really disappointed you sent this photo. I would of much rather you sent a photo of you and a male model in love together. This comes off very candid. I guess I can see February since the colors are pink and red. However I am really mad and disappointed you went with this. I think you could of way better.
Beth: I think this is very unique and I love the energy. As for the angle, yes it's a little bit weird but I love the fact that you embrace the valentine with your sister. I rather to celebrate Valentine with my sisters than my boyfriend. But I do think you can do better than this, Sienna
Anna: Sienna darling, I am not impressed. You do have a great smile, but that is literally the only thing I like about this photo. The other judges have pretty much covered everything that's wrong with this, so I'm not going to bother going into details, but I must admit I am baffled as to why you would actually choose a photo like this for the competition.
Team Orange: Katy (July) & Sarah (September)
Amanda: So you're acting like one of the boys, are you? Okay, that was bad. I've probably run out of Katy Perry innuendos by now...
This is VERY summery, and VERY nicely-done. It works perfectly for July - you're sitting pool-side, ready for a dip, but you're not being overly trashy, and your eyes are not concealed by sunglasses. You're also wearing a hat, and you know me...I love my hat. And I like yours too. This is styling without being trashy, and those legs... the smile... it all goes together quite nicely. Very good recovery from last round! I want to see more of this
Joan: I think this photo passes for July. So you did well at that. My main problem with this photo is that it comes off fake and posey. Everything just seems to put together, this reminds me of your smile photo it looked so perfect and almost too good. I do however think this is a good photo but work on coming off natural and not fake/posey in photos.
Beth: Yup, I agree with Beth. It looks very posey and unnatural to me too. But as far as the theme, I think you did great on that. From the styling, the pose and the concept, I really like it. It's very July-ish for me. Good job for that alone
Anna: I've got to agree with Joan on this one, this does come off rather posey and unnatural. However, that can be a style in itself, and maybe you're just trying to mimic the flamingo in the background? I think this photo fits wonderfully for your chosen month, and I love the retro glamour thing you've got going on with the styling. The background seems awfully dark though, as if a storm is about to ruin your fantastic summer day. Overall, I think this would fit nicely in a calendar, but you're starting to look like a plastic toy; try to loosen up a bit.
Amanda: It may just be me, but most kids don't bathe in leaves naked. I like the concept of this, but at the same time it's a month too soon - the leaves don't change until October, since, in America, September marks the start of school and end of summer. I know it's different for you, and I appreciate that you're appealing to the American calendar market here, so you get points for that. You also get points for being unique and memorable even if... you're not wearing a bra. It's an artistic shot, but I'm not completely sold on if someone would even allow this on a calendar in this country. Given how lawsuit-happy the USA is, someone's bound to sue the calendar maker for "SHE'S NAKED! MY KID SAW IT! MY KID'S LIFE IS RUINED!"
Sorry. I had to.
I like this, but I don't love it. There are things that go in either direction for me, and part of it is a... hemisphere gap, so I'll overlook that gripe. Good work
Joan: You did it Sarah! This week you did not produce a boring and forgettable photo. This is outrageous, awkward, weird, crazy, unexpected, and I quite like this photo. The leaves remind me of September right away. I think you took a huge gamble on being nude in this photo. I like how different this photo is. The pose is very good as well. When you first look at this photo it is overwhelming but overall I think you did much better than the past couple weeks. I am really glad you worked hard on not sending us a boring plain Jane photograph.
Beth: Sarah.. I'm going to side with.................................... Joan!!. Finally, you took risk!!! That's what I've been waiting from you girl. This is memorable and look at you body posture here. Very good. I love the concept and this week you did amazing girl!!!
Anna: There is no question that this is absolutely perfect for a calendar; and you look fantastic. I have no idea what Amanda is talking about as far as the nudity is concerned, since girls reveal just as much skin as this in their skimpy outfits walking down the street. I love how you are modeling "head to toe" here; your face is beautiful, your pose is exquisite, and even your hands and feet are adding something. Great job all around, Sarah.
Welcome to your Final Duo week. After this week, you're going to be on yourself. You only have yourself to blame after this.
Let's start our judging session now
Team Grey: Anne (November) & Charlize (April)

Amanda: This is, uhh... I really have no idea how to put it. I'm not feeling February at all, since Valentine's Day is a holiday about intimate love. I don't completely see your explanation - you and your sister have a chemistry, but that's it.
